If you have Bacterial Vaginosis (BV) how to know if your uterus is infected? Hi everyone. I was diagnosed with bacterial vaginosis (BV) yesterday at the emergency room. I also found out I’m six weeks pregnant. The doctor was not very accurate with my questions and I’ve my ob/gyn appointment three weeks away from now. I’m very worried for my unborn baby because I’ve heard you can get your uterus infected with BV and lose the baby. What are the signs you have your uterus infected? How can you get your uterus infected? Please any advice on what to do and what not to do to prevent it from my uterus getting infected. I’ve moderate pain on my abdominal area and I’m very scared to lose my baby. Also does sex or masturbation increase the chances of getting your uterus infected? Ex. Tightening your thighs together for a “good” sensation? ( I know its weird ) Please help me, Ive started the treatment today but I’m worried. Please no rude comments and Thank in an advance

Bacterial vaginosis is a VAGINAL infection and that’s where it stays. Your cervix is closed so the infection can’t get up any higher. The baby is enclosed in the amniotic sac so it too is safe. Make sure you take every single antibiotic pill that was prescribed so you can get this cleared up. And, there is no activity that increases the chances of infection other than unprotected sex which can give you all kinds of STD's. You need to go to WebMd.com and type bacterial vaginosis in the search line and read up on this condition.
A heavy amount of discharge should be treated. You very well could have a yeast infection. Not all yeast infections itch. You can go to the pharmacy. There are take home tests. Some vaginal discharge is normal though.
I think you can try to treat the ailment by yourself at home. There are several ways, such as vaginal wash. Add a few drops of tea tree oil to a quarter of water. Add two caps of hydrogen peroxide to this solution and wash your vagina once for two days. This is one of the best bacterial vaginosis home remedy available from olden days. You can even try yoghurt. Its a bit messy but effective. They coat the vaginal wall with live cultures of useful bacteria and change the alkaline ph to acidic in nature. (I never try this one, though).
1.) Make sure you don't have an infection. 2.) DON'T stick things up there to “clean it.” Vaginas have a natural “flow” and anything that goes in, eventually “comes out.” Vaginas have a mucus lining that protects against infection, so when you douche, not only do you get rid of any bacteria that might cause odors, but you also get rid of that mucus lining… And doing that leaves you susceptible to MORE infection. Get it? Everyone just thinks that “Oh, I must be dirty if I’ve any odor” But a little bit of odor is nothing strange. On the other hand, if you want to be constantly dry, itchy, and generally unhealthy down there… Yeah, try the vinegar and water douche….. Basically, just make sure you wash everywhere else, and don't “scrape out” what you got in there. There's a reason it's there and your natural flow will take care of problems.
