Chemical irritants — such as detergents, fabric softeners, feminine sprays, ointments, creams, douches, and contraceptive foams or jellies. Menopause — the drop in estrogen causes thinning of the vaginal wall and less lubrication. Stress — may increase vaginal itching and make you more susceptible to infections. Vaginal yeast infection — often includes a discharge that’s white and curd-like. Vaginal yeast infections can be brought on by antibiotics, birth control pills, pregnancy, menstruation, condom use, sexual intercourse, diabetes, and a weakened immune system. Vaginitis — inflammation, itching, discharge, and odor caused by other infections (including sexually transmitted diseases). Vaginitis in girls before puberty is common. If a young girl has a sexually transmitted vaginal infection, however, sexual abuse must be considered and addressed. Other possible, but less common, causes of vaginal or vulvar itching include: Certain skin conditions affecting the vulvar skin, some of which may be precancerous To prevent and treat vaginal itching: Avoid colored or perfumed toilet tissue and bubble bath. Avoid feminine hygiene sprays and douches. Change out of wet clothing, especially wet bathing suits or exercise clothing, as soon as possible. Cleanse the area by wiping or washing from front to back (vagina to anus) after urinating or having a bowel movement. Eat yogurt with live cultures or take Lactobacillus acidophilus tablets when using antibiotics. Check with your doctor. Keep your genital area clean and dry. Use plain, unscented soap. Keep your blood sugar under good control if you have diabetes. Lose weight if you’re overweight. Wear cotton panties or pantyhose with a cotton crotch. Avoid panties made from synthetic materials. For infants and toddlers, change diapers often. Call your doctor right away if: You have increased thirst or appetite, unexplained weight loss, frequent urination, or fatigue — these may be signs of diabetes. Uncontrollable itchness on the vulva or in the vagina could be an indicator of something serious. Yeast infections, STD's, dysplasia etc…can all cause itching. You need to see a doctor to know what is going on for sure.
Definatly sounds like thrush too me. Keep using the cream and see a differnent doctor if symptoms aren't getting better in a few days. Candida albicans is the microscopic fungus which is responsible for thrush. While this organism ordinarily lives in the intestinal tract of men and women, nearly one out of 3 women have candida albicans present in their vagina. This can become a problem when its numbers outgrow the good bacteria its a battle of the good bacteria with the bad bacteria and the side with the most soldiers wins. ***Things which can kill good pro-biotic bacteria include: # Anti-biotics # Birth Control Pills # Steroidal/hormonal drugs # Fluoride # Chlorine # Coffee/Tea/Carbonated Drinks # Synthetic vitamins # Radiation # Stress # Additives # Pesticides # Fertilisers A good way to prevent thrush is to take a pro-biotic. There are many pro-biotic preparations on the market, usually in powder form found at your health food store or at the chemist. They store the pro-biotic acidophilus in the fridge being a live bacteria you’ll likely need to ask for it as it wont be on the shelf. **** Things you can do to treat it…. Just because one type/brand of treatment doesnt work e.g. Canasten, it doesnt mean another like Nilstat wont work. Try them all because they’ve slightly different constituents. # Get onto a good pro-biotic this will help the actual problem of a bacterial inbalance and will get to work right away. The good bacteria will begin to grow and out-number the bad bacteria. The higher CFUs (colony forming units) the better, I’ve seen up to 265 million before. # Natural live yogurt contains a pro-biotic called acidophilus. That being said, the level of pro-biotics in yoghurt is quite low, so it can take a little more time to help, which can be frustrating especially if itching is a problem. You can eat the yoghurt as much as you like, some women swear by inserting some plain natural yoghurt into their vagina. You can soak a tampon in natural yoghurt, (differentiate just unsweetened from true natural yoghurt) and insert into the vagina for two hours, then change for new one. # Avoid underwear that’s tight or contains materials like lycra and other fabric which reduces air circulation cotton is best. Avoid underwear wherever possible not a good idea though if you’re going to work and wearking a skirt! Around the home and overnight is a good start. # Avoid tight jeans or trousers where possible opt for skirts if you can. # Candida albicans thrive in moist, warm environments so try to avoid long, hot baths. # Good old Gentian Violet in an aqua or water Base is still extremely effective for vag thrush (just messy & out there being bright purple) especially good for nipples & babies mouths as it’s very liquid and soaks into all the crevices in the tissues which a gel like Daktarin can’t. # Douching is effective as long as you’re not pregnant # Try avoiding yeast lot of women swear that yeast in their diet increases the growth of candida. Its often present in iron tonic supplements so check list of ingredients when taking these. # High levels of sugar in diets seems to be a very common culprit, look to amending the diet primarily.
Ok, first tell me what color your discharge is. If it’s yellow/lime green, you have BV-bacterial vaginosis, and need to let it run it's course. If the discharge is accompanied by excessive itchiness and cottage cheese like yellow or white clumpy discharge, it’s yeast infection/thrush, and you need to see a Doctor to ask about monistat, or if you don’t want to ask the doctor, get monistat 7 ( a 7 day treatment) monistat three (higher dose, three day treatment) or monistat one (1 day high dose treatment) I would recommend the 7 day so that the healthy yeast has a chance to re-establish itself in your vagina. You can also try a home remedy, which is dipping a tampon into plain (NO SUIGAR) white yogurt from the grocery store and inserting into vagina overnight, this will re-stabilize the vaginal yeast. Yes, every woman has yeast in her vagina, it’s normal flora needed to clean and hydrate it. To check for BV or Yeast infection get the Vagisil screening kit or see a Dr. Tell your mom.
Your most likely starting to grow pubes… And 14year old sex? My son would kill for your phone number…
It may be itchy from pads or tampons. :/ Maybe even underwear.
Shaving does irritate the skin and causes it to be itchy, which is normal. Thrush could be your problem, its caused by many things not associated with sex. Also bacterial infections could be the problem as during your period there is lots of bacteria down stairs. Best to go get a check up from your doctor so you can be treated.
Good luck.
