How Can Clothes Give You a Yeast Infection?

Every woman likes to look her best, but what most women do not know is that the price your body pays due to vanity. One cause of yeast infections is the type of clothing women choose to wear. Sure it makes you look good, but at the end of the day those skin tight jeans and cute thong underneath can cause vaginal irritation that will make you regret those decisions. Yeast infections are annoying and embarrassing and with the right conditions they can take away someones womanhood. I’m here to tell you how the type of clothing you wear can cause this infection to appear and other dress alternatives to prevent this from happening.

The weather is finally nice and you want to slip into a cute bikini and some tight short shorts to show off the body you have been working so hard on all winter. Sounds like a good idea, right? That’s until you start to notice an itching and burning sensation in your vaginal area and to make matters worse, there is a distinct odor you just cannot get rid of.

Make sure you read this short article thoroughly, the challenge and the methods have some different versions. Tight and damp clothing constricting that heat and moisture in your vagina creates the perfect breeding grounds for the yeast Candida to grow and flourish. You do not have to be uncomfortable to look good. Choosing a flowy summer dress that allows a breeze in your private areas can still make you feel like a woman, without stirring up the possibility of getting an irritating yeast infection. As the warmer months bring out the want to look sexy and show off some skin, just remember that choosing something tight and revealing as opposed to something more breathable could put a damper on your time in the sun. Do not sacrifice your vaginal health for beauty because in the end it will not be worth it! The vagina is pearl of what makes you a woman.

Vaginal Irritation from underwear?! I'm twelve :( ? K so I had cheer practice and I wore these really tight spankies (spandex shorts) my underwear wasn't cotton :( it was nylon/spandex. I got a really bad wedgie, but in my vagina….. I had cotton shorts on top, but the spankies gave me like a camel toe under the shorts. Now on one side it's irritated and hurts a little when I walk. I REFUSE to tell my mum. How can I get it to go away? Should I take a shower? Oh and it's irritated in the lips of my vag, on the left side next to my vaginal opening. I think the underwear that wasnt cotton made it worse too :/ i'm going to the beach for three days so how can I get it to go away by 2morrow? I’ve no vagisil or anything. I don't think neosporin would be good bc i hear its bad for your vagina. Please help! All answers appreciated and I’ll pick best answer :)

Go see your doctor! May be just crazy pregnancy stuff, but may be a yeast infection or something- you need to get that taken care of. Best of luck and have a happy pregnancy!

Could just be mechanical irritation, or could be a urinary tract infection. A doctor can test for UTI.

Yeast Infection. Don’t BUY VAGISIL!!!! IT SUCKS!!!!! Get Monistat. It’ll clear it up in about three days. My girlfriend had one and she bought it and it went away. Don’t have sex during the time as it's clearing up because it’ll cause it to stay longer or agitate your vagina. The Monistat is about 22.00 bucks and it's a one time use but I promise this is what it’s. You won't waste it. It's a white egg shaped medicine and you stick it up there. Read directions before use. Hope this helps.

Granny panties are loose and they ''breathe'', but I agree that they’re unsightly. As for the people saying 'who looks at your underwear?'…sometimes you just need to look good for you! If you're wearing lots of thongs that'll be your problem. The see-saw motion of the thong spreads bacteria around the genital area and can even cause UTIs or yeast infections. Stick to the cotton undies. Silk, etc trap moisture and bacteria. If you're just wearing jeans and don't have a hot date I'd stick to a brief or a boy short. Save thongs for special occasions. Try sleeping without underwear for a few nights and see if things clear up. If you've just switched your laundry soap this could also be to blame.

The itchiness sounds like a yeast infection which comes after taking an antibiotic. Try treating yourself for a yeast infection. You can go back but im sure they'll tell you its either another infection or a Yeast

You need panties which are easy fitting and which are 100% natural. Artificial products such as polyester and spandex tend to cause persipration to remain on your body, combined with your body heat, your natural fauna of fungus and bacteria flourishes causing irritation. That's why when you wear cotton shirts or singlets this leads to less body odour. Or when you wear synthetic shoes your feet start to stink. But if you wear natural products such as wool and cotton most of the perspiration is absorbed by the fabric.
