Learn the Cause & the Cures, Get Rid of Vaginal Odor

Are you one of those women who are on the look out for ways to get rid of vaginal odor? Well, you have come to the right place. For no fault of yours, you’re suffering with this problem. Most women complain that they’ve had enough of going to the doctor and taking the antibiotics. Though there is temporary respite, the relief is never permanent and in maybe a few months back you start off with all the symptoms.

One of the main causes for vaginal odor is BV or Bacterial Vaginosis. Another important one would be Candida infection. You need to first identify which of these is causing you the problem. The best way to do so would be to compare the color of the discharge. For people suffering with BV, it would be a thin, milky white or gray colored discharge with a very foul smell. The other symptoms that accompany this include itching, cramps, pain etc. Once you identify what is the cause for your problem, and then it becomes easier to get rid of vaginal odor.

This can easily be significant part of this specific issue. There are a lot of things you need to keep in mind if you want to get rid of vaginal odor. There are several bacteria in living in your vagina both beneficial as well as the harmful ones. Now when the balance between these gets destroyed you become the victim of the problem. Consuming antibiotics can never help because, this even kill the good bacteria too. This is why you see that the problem repeats. When it comes back there are no good ones to fight it and get rid of the vaginal odor.

Do probiotics acidophilus help vagina odor? Ok so ive been to the gynecologist cause I’ve baddischarge and i mean ALOT. But he tested be for everything but std's cause ive never had sex or done anything sexual but i tested negative on EVERYTHING! But i dont have a rash or anything like that and it doesnt itch the only thing thats wrong is the discharge and i dont like the smell of my vagina, i know your gonna be like “every girl has a different smell” well i dont care because i hate my smell and its embarassing, but my gyno told me to douche once a month if i wanted to and he said that would be fine and hes putting me on birth control but im not on it yet and i use feminine wipes and deodorant and he said that was fine too but they dont really help and I’vent douched yet either cause i just went yesterday for my second time to the gyno but i was wondering because my mom told me probiotics acidophilus would help my odor and make it more pleasant because i mentioned yogurt and cranberry juice but she told me that the probiotics have the same stuff yogurt has and it has even more so it would be better, is this true? Will it help the smell a little? And please dont be rude or immature because im really self concious about my lady parts

Is this something new, or has it always been this way? If you're having a bad smell and more discharge than is normal, that sounds like some sort of infection. You don't necessarily have to have itching or a rash in order to have a pH imbalance going on in your vagina, or an excess of bad bacteria causing smells. Typically, when it comes to probiotics, they're really only effective when you have no natural bacteria at all (for example, if you're taking antibiotics, probiotics can help you reestablish that growth). Otherwise, they kind of have a negligible effect. Don't douche or use feminine wipes- you don't want to further upset the pH balance in your vagina. The vagina is self-cleaning, so you shouldn't have to be douching- if it's not naturally clean and functioning on its own, then that probably means there's a problem like a pH imbalance or excess bad bacteria in comparison to good bacteria. And of course, it's always possible that this is the natural way your vagina smells, in which case, you do just kind of have to get used to it. Either way, I would suggest not douching, not using feminine wipes or deodorant, but instead taking baths frequently (you don't have to wash your vagina or stick anything into it; simply being in the water will help pull any discharge out and leave you cleaner than a shower might), wearing breathable cotton underwear, maybe wearing pantyliners if the discharge is a big deal, trying to incorporate more yogurt into your diet (if never hurts to try, eh?), and seeing how things go. Good luck and I hope that helps.

Hi, during pregnancy, you should have discharge but it shouldn't have any smell to it…

No I think that would hurt like hell and damage her vagina. Just have her use extra strong deoderant and vaginal wash like vagisal.

You dont have to skip sex.. I'm going to be as gentle about this as possible. You know how some crude men will say something like “She smells like Tuna”? Well the reality of that, is the smell that comes from a vagina that smells like “tuna” is actually decaying seminal fluid. No Joke. Just unwashed vagina only smells strongly of vagina..add semen and it starts to really stink. So yes is it very important that you clean very well with soap and water and open yourself up just a bit and rinse out..if you don't..you’ll develop an odor for sure..and possibly an infection…so clean up well each time you have sex… Unless you’re burning, itching or in pain its unlikely the odor is anything but a hygiene issue.. If there is burning, itching, or pain along with a foul odor and discolored or thick discharge then you should consult a doctor, otherwise just clean up well and you’ll be fine :)

A slight fishiness isn't necessarily abnormal – there is a joke about what animals make up a woman, and the last line is 'A fish you can never find'. Nevertheless, itchiness may indicate thrush (unless you shave or wax, in which case it might just be hair regrowth).
