Vaginal itching and redness? I've been having quite a bit of itching for a while, which is sometimes turned into sharp pain. When I insert a tampon it hurts to do so and the area around it looks red. The discharge is not cottage cheesey so it's not a yeast infection and I'm not sexually active so I'm honestly not sure what's wrong. Could anyone give me some help with this? And possibly how to treat it?

Greeny/yellow discharge and vaginal itching? I’ve recently finished a one week course of penacillin. After i finshed it, i started suffering from vaginal itching. Ultimately, I’ve a greeny/yellow discharge in my underwear. Im not sexually active and I’ve only had one partner so i dont think its a STI. Plus I’ve had chlamydia tests and everything was fine. Could it be a yeast infection? Im going to the doctors on monday about it, but please someone help?!

Bacterial infection it’s! If its greeny/yellow then its bacteria infection, Consult a gynecologist, Sometimes it goes away by itself, And at times it takes a long time, by then Your area would bleed out of all that itching, the affects don;t come immediately, But later on it gets really bad. Like maybe this discharge is there for two days and the 3rd day it burns and itches so much that you cant move! Yeh it happens suddenly and at that point you just wanna itch all the way into your vagina till your womb!! It gets that bad!! Consult a doc and make sure you never get it again!! YEAST AND BACTERIAL infection is EVIL!!

Yeah, it’s probably a yeast infection. Requires a trip to the doctor anyways.

No.No..never put vaseline or oil based thing down there…take a shower and wash the area with an antiseptic liquid (dilute one teaspoon to half a liter water). Drink plenty of water and urinate in half hour intervals. So that the maximum microbes get washed in urine and you’ll feel relaxed. Trust me, I’m telling this with my personal experience…

If you have itchiness and discharge, see your doctor. You may have a yeast infection. Honestly, either way, contact your doctor about it and see what they’ve to say. Probably nothing to worry about, even if it’s a yeast infection, but much better to be safe and ask.
