Treating recurrent bacterial vaginosis infections naturally is a very sensible option as using antibiotics and over the counter treatments can never give anything other than symptomatic relief. They don’t eliminate the root causes and therefore if you’re prone to BV infections, they’ll just keep coming back repeatedly.
Bacterial vaginosis is the most common cause of unpleasant vaginal discharge. Although occasionally, the symptoms are mild and will occasionally clear up without any intervention, more often than not the root cause never really goes away and this means that the symptoms keep returning time and time again. The symptoms include a foul, fishy smelling odor, which is usually accompanied by an itching or burning. The smell is often the worse part for most woman as the extreme embarrassment means that they often hate being in company. Ironically, the very steps they may take to try to eliminate the problem, such as douching and repeated washing can be the very things which make the condition worse.
Now this is a very important piece of this specific matter. Bacterial vaginosis is caused by an imbalance of the naturally occurring bacteria within the vagina. Under normal circumstances, the pH level of the vagina is mildly acidic and this supports the levels of healthy bacteria. When the pH levels become imbalanced, harmful bacteria will grow and it’s this which causes the symptoms of BV. Most women will at some time in their adult lives suffer from BV and many aren’t in a sexual relationship.
Treating recurrent bacterial vaginosis infections naturally is a case of boosting the levels of beneficial bacteria whilst giving symptomatic relief.
Recurrent Bacterial Vaginosis
It’s very difficult to establish the exact causes of BV in individuals, but there are a number of factors which could be responsible. Many women never find what their own “trigger factors” are but by using an approach which systematically eliminates all of the common causes of BV, they’re successfully able to eliminate the condition.
Common Causes Include
* Intercourse with a new partner * Overwashing * Douching * Being generally under the weather * Having lengthy menstrual periods * Wearing synthetic panties * Using perfumed products around the vaginal area
Treating recurrent bacterial vaginosis infections is important as although isolated outbreaks which disappear on their own aren’t serious, if left untreated, bacterial vaginosis can lead to pelvic inflammatory disease or even infertility. BV during pregnancy also puts a woman at risk of a miscarriage or an early labor.
Treatment
One excellent and well-known way of treating recurrent bacterial vaginosis infections naturally is by using live natural yogurt as the probiotic bacteria can help to replenish the vagina’s depleted supplies. Try soaking a tampon in the yogurt and leaving it in place inside the vagina for a couple of hours. Another way to get relief is to add a few drops of tea tree oil to a shallow bath as this can help too eradicate harmful bacteria.
If you find that bacterial vaginosis has not gone itself within a couple of days, you may wish to consider trying a systematic treatment which is completely guaranteed to cure the condition within 3 days.

Holistic Cures for Bacterial Vaginosis. Some may not know there are holistic cures for Bacterial Vaginosis.
Sounds like bacterial vaginosis which can happen after a period with or without tampon use, but they can add to it. Normal vaginal ph is 3.5-4.0, blood ph is 7. And can get us out of whack and cause overgrowth of bacteria and odor. You can put some plain yogurt in a tampon applicator and put it in vagina to replace the good bacteria. You can also douche with 30cc's or so of hydrogen peroxide, and it works wonders…I know folks will disagree, so I’m posting a link to info from the national institute of health on the use of peroxide for this, study concluded it was a valid treatment: Ill paste the article too: Utilisation of hydrogen peroxide in the treatment of recurrent bacterial vaginosis. [Article in English, Italian] Cardone A, Zarcone R, Borrelli A, Di Cunzolo A, Russo A, Tartaglia E. Source 1st Obstetric and Gynecologic Clinic, Department of Gynecology, Obstetrics and Neonatology, Second University of Naples, Naples, Italy. Abstract AIM: The authors have evaluated the real efficacy of using hydrogen peroxide for previously treated recurrent bacterial vaginosis that’s resistant to other forms of treatment. METHODS: The study included fifty-eight women aged between eightteen and fourty-two years old. Vaginal irrigations with thirty ml of hydrogen peroxide (3%) were prescribed in the evening for a week. The follow-up was carried out three months after the end of treatment. RESULTS: The results clearly show that the use of hydrogen peroxide in vagina can eliminate the main symptoms of bacterial vaginosis, and in particular the malodorous leucoxanthorrhea in 89% of cases at three months after the end of treatment, a result that’s comparable to that obtained using metronidazole or clindamycin as a vaginal cream. Moreover, hydrogen peroxide facilitates the restoration of normal vaginal bacterial flora (represented by H202-producing lactobacillus) in 100% of cases and normal acid pH (pH
